What Not to Buy: Apple's New "Fun" Products

Apple's press release last week said that New "Fun" Products were being released today. To that I say:

Are you kidding me, Apple?

$99 for a Leather ipod Case that you can’t even see through?
$399 for an huge, ugly iPod Stereo?

Greed is Bad, Apple. Greed is Bad.

What to Buy: Citrus Peeler

One of my friends was visiting tonight and suggested that I blog about my peeler.

I eat a lot of oranges and I hate getting orange peely crud under my nails. This thing scores through the peel and the other end seperates the peel from the orange.

How to IM: meebo.com

I'm not a big IM'er. In fact, I only do it when I'm trying to hunt someone down. But... I found the best way to do it.

meebo combines AIM, Google Talk/Jabber, Yahoo and MSN on one convenient page. The IM windows themselves are AJAX (Moveable little windows) on one convenient page.

I test-drove it a couple of days ago and it works like a charm.

What to Watch: Anything To Win

I've seen a few of these documentaries on GSN. I skipped Johnnie Cochran and Ahnold, but the ones on the MIT Blackjack Team, the Pennsylvania Lottery Scandal and last night's one on John Delorean were all riveting.

I suggest you check 'em out.

Newsbrief: NYC Casual Corner still open (for now)

Much to my dismay, the entire
Casual Corner chain is closing. Boo!

The last store to close is the 42nd St location, which is getting all the leftovers from the stores across the country. The Women's dept. was still packed (not so organized, but packed) full of clothes.

Everything was 80% off. I got six tops and two pairs of pants for $45.

Their last day is Friday. Boo!

What to Send: Monk-e-Mail

Check out Brian's Monk-e-Mail that he sent me this morning.

What to Have: Desk-Drawer Emergency Kit

Real Simple has a shopping list for a Desk-Drawer Emergency

Aha! Extras
# Birthday candles
# Matches
# Copies of your house and car keys
# Corkscrew and bottle opener
# Plastic silverware
# Sweetener

I wouldn't buy the Birthday Candles, because I don't want to be "the girl who has Birthday Candles." And I wouldn't have a Corkscrew and bottle opener, because the wrong person sees it, and the next thing you know, there's a rumor about you being a lush.

Besides those, the list is pretty good.
